Here on Gentoo op. system I have setup of use of the 'xml' USE flag.

If I want to reinstall gnustep-base then I get:

$ sudo emerge -pav gnustep-base

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] gnustep-base/gnustep-base-1.20.1\
  USE="libffi -debug -doc -gnutls -zeroconf" 0 kB

or:

$ USE="xml" sudo emerge -pav gnustep-base

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] gnustep-base/gnustep-base-1.20.1  USE="libffi -debug
-doc -gnutls -zeroconf" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB

So it seem that that I can't install gnustep-base with 'xml' support?
