Hi,
The point is that programs should not use the GNUSTEP_*_ROOT variables. They were deprecated almost three years ago, and now that fhs layout is the default for users installing from source, programs that still use them will not work on a default install. They also cause confusion when defined on setups where they don't make sense. That's why I ask if the time has come to follow up on the "will be removed" part.
Hmm. I think I found out now. They come out from ProjectCenter projects. It is the install dir.
Should they be changed to DOMAIN? I find these keys for examples: Graphos.pcproj/PC.project: INSTALLDIR = "$(GNUSTEP_LOCAL_ROOT)/"; The preference where it comes form is marked "Install in".Should it default to what? LOCAL and then use it to set the domain? In that case it could even be a popup button. What do you think?
Riccardo
