No, this is not true, they are not gone, but I recognized:
When I said, the squeezed fonts are gone, then I was logged in to the host via 
ssh, and started the programs.
When I just tested it locally again, and the squeezed fonts are back.

The cutted words in the dropdown menu are away, also locally.

here I'm unsure what you mean, do you can give an example, and I can try to 
reproduce?
