how do you break on gdb? and how do I see the callstack? do I need to look on a specific thread?

If you meant svn://coyote.octets.fr/gnustep/SimpleAgenda/trunk then yes.

Could you run SimpleAgenda under gdb and try to understand where does
it hang ?
