That's a different path than what I found on the GNUstep "Using Subversion" page <http://wiki.gnustep.org/index.php/Using_Subversion>:

Simply run: 
svn co http://svn.gna.org/svn/gnustep/modules

In my checkout I have dev-libs/corebase; how does this differ from what's in the repo you gave?
