The font name issue should be resolved as well. Now we should go back to Greg's original issue. He uses cairo and cups, which is the setup I am using myself. And here the generation of a PS file works, with all the known limitations.I will be able to test this in a bit. Unfortunately my mother is in the hospital.I will test immediately when I get back. I have another machine with a similar config.FredGreg

I just tried this on another machine, it does appear to be configuration related. I believe Fred was correct about it being the PPD. The machine I am testing on has no printer selected, so it is using a generic postscript printer PPD. The machine which is failing is configured to use my Xerox 4500.Both machines are of identical config to what I described earlier in this thread with that one difference. I need to do some research to see if this can be corrected as it should, at least, generate a PS even if it doesn't have the PPD. I have a feeling we need to use the Generic_Postscript_Printer.ppd as a fallback in case a specific PPD is not available. Thanks, GC--Gregory Casamento
