this could be due to an existing older GNUstep installation, but also 
something else setting it: I got it on totally "clean" environments. It 
could be Windowmaker or Raspbian setting it.
Just do "unset GNUSTEP_USER_ROOT" and retry.. later you should not get 
this issue anymore.

Nice that you are playing with Graphos on the Raspberry :-P
