I think you missed a point : these are all well known projects with lots of
contributors and users.

It would be better to copy new projects in need to attract users and
developers.

IMHO the problem in current GnuStep website is that navigation is build for
people that already knows the project or for experienced FOSS devs, accustomed
to discussion groups.
There is not an attractive flashy modern brillant presentation first.
And because young people are different, they need short messages.
