I took the time to test your live image on a VM, I just played with it a little.

It works, comes up and feels speedy enough. My first impression is that it is exactly what the title says "Windowmaker with GNUstep". It contains a collection of apps and tools of GNUstep added on. E.g. things like Terminal open xterm, not Terminal, which is then available in the GNUstep menu. Same goes with other details.

GNUstep lives only in the GNUstep app menu of Windowmaker. Furthermore, the GS apps are not available as usual in an easy to use folder from GWorkspace, e.g. /System/Applications or /usr/GNUstep/System/Application or in other places where I looked in, so the user looses the classic way to launch apps.

Still, things work, so this is a legitimate usage for GNUstep apps and I think it still serves the cause of spreading GNUstep. In open source you are free do to this and since it works quickly, it is also interesting, just different from a "full GS Desktop" approach. Both are valid, although I'd prefer some parts tweaked to be more GS like without making GS mandatory.

You found some bugs we are working on and this proves again how much using our apps is important!

Good work and thanks for sharing. Please keep it updated!

Riccardo

PS: I tested the Italian language and there are definitely some funny translations and/or missing ones!
