Hi all,

I'm using the dmidecode tool to read the bios info from my system, and I would
like to know
if is there some way to detect in linux when some change is made from in bios
when the system
boots.

My first try is.. Using dmidecode I have:

# ./dmidecode -t bios
# dmidecode 2.11
SMBIOS 2.3 present.

Handle 0x0001, DMI type 0, 20 bytes
BIOS Information
        Vendor: Hewlett-Packard
        Version: 786B2 v1.11
        Release Date: 07/10/2003
        Address: 0xE0000
        Runtime Size: 128 kB
        ROM Size: 512 kB
        Characteristics:

then I save in a binary file a 128 kB memory chunk dumped from 0xE0000. Then, I
reboot,
change anything from bios, save the changes, and dump again the same chunk but
I get the
same bytes...

Any comment is welcome!

Best regards,
Jorge
