The main problem is not the annoncement or not of a new version release
But the release of an instable version for respect a f...king planning of release delivery

Time to take time between release for increase stability

When a released is done, an annoucement is always done on all social networks.

He probably means that it was not announced on the development mailing list. Since it was talked about it many times in the past , and iirc also decided to have the announcement in this list too, he probably claims about this.
