I've been following this a bit (although not very closely)... while
any kind of European Union endorsement for software patents is
definately very bad news, it sounds like APIs are definately not
going to be patentable in Europe.  In any case, it is certainly ok
to work on any DotGNU-related matter in Europe as long as we're not
informed (either directly by MS or indirectly, e.g. via the media) of
any patents or patent applications that would make something that we
want to do EU-patent-endangered.

Contanting Free Software user groups in China is something that I
definately want to do.  Would you be willing to help with this?
