It is not a limitation of Playground nor Dr.Geo. It is an installation problem.
Playgroound setting can be change to a disk location with write permission.

  Playground write error

Status in Dr. Geo II:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When Dr. Geo is installed in a folder with write access restriction
  (which happen likely with shared worstations), Playground cannot write
  the cache and return an error.

  It is then impossoble to use Playground and write programmed sketches.
