Sure, but I didn't really understand what you meant by having the
logo
“as before (without the rounding)” but keeping its position as it is
in
the new header.
The most important thing about the logo is the size so that it can be
"understood" or appreciated. The position of the new scheme is fine,
the idea would be that it stands out a little from the header line but
that it doesn't clash with the navigation menu.
Did you mean that there should not be an extra background color for
the
logo (i.e., the logo should better not appear in a bright green
circle
but on the header background directly)?
Exactly.
I see. And you'd want it to be a little bit bigger, right?
So, there are two ways to do this:
1. Having the logo strictly inside the header bar (and making it all
bigger):
|------------------------
| |------| |------------
| | | |
| | LOGO | | HEADER TEXT
| | | |
| |------| |------------
|------------------------
2. Having the logo stretch over the lower edge of the header bar
into the free area between the header bar and the navigation menu:
|------------------------
| |------| |------------
| | | |
| | | | HEADER TEXT
| | LOGO | |
| | | |------------
|-| |----EDGE-------
|------|
The problem with the second approach is that it looks a bit odd because
of the “sharp edge” between the header and the body background. (I've
tried that before.) Giving the logo its own circle background and
border
solves this problem.
