Good news, I discovered that the installer was reporting device names 
using /dev/${name} (e.g. /dev/sr0), but the check dodged it as it did 
not include the /dev prefix for the listed device names.

Recent commit[1] should fix this.  Anyway, I will test everything 
thoroughly before a release...
