Basically, whenever a new file would get added to the backup set, it would get compared against the existing files (name, size, date(?)) and if it exists already, only some kind of link would get added to the backup set. Would this be possible?
I am not an expert in duplicity internals at all, but it doesn't seem to fit well in the current implementation, especially with the big tarballs.
If it were possible, it would be a big step toward reverse incremental backup, which would definitely rock.
