1. Find a valid *.srt file (e.g. in etc/srecode/).
2. C-c C-c
=> srecode-compile-templates: You must specify a MODE for your templates
Solution: Enable semantic in this kind of buffers.

Now it says
You have to activate semantic-mode to compile SRecode templates.
which seems reasonable to me.
