This is not truncation.  "Which see" is a widely-used phrase, a
translation of "quod vide" or "q.v." in Latin.  The Emacs manual says
in "Glossary":

  q.v.
       Short for "quod vide" in Latin, which means "which see".

We use this a lot in our doc strings.

I'm therefore closing this non-bug.
