IIRC, the problem is not JS itself, but whether the used JS package fits
the free software license requirements. But I'm not an expert in this.

I cannot speak for Emacs, this is up to the maintainers. But as a head
prject of GNU, Emacs is always following the requirements strictly. And
this is good.

Hmm. I have no other idea. But I guess the FSF must find a solution
