I agree. Probably the majority of my changes languishing during the
`feature freeze' have bit-rotted over the months and years. Often
this is because the same or similar feature was added by someone else,
but often it's because of other conflicts. Whatever, it's been a
demoralizing waste of GNU effort.
I'm sorry to say free software hacking time is better spent elsewhere
for now. Obviously, given a history of trying to get people on board,
I wish it was different.
Improved fonts would be one worthwhile bit of Unicode effort. I know
you do other things.
