You are the second person complaining about that.  What about
<C-S-backspace>?  Is Shift far enough from M- and Alt- on most
keyboards?  C-S-k or, in a certain sense, C-K looks natural but might
set a bad precedent.  Of course, none of these bindings will work
under emacs -nw or the like.

Remembers me of this "fun" binding:

Caution! Danger! Do not necessarily try!

`C-M-<DEL>'
     Kill balanced expression backward (`backward-kill-sexp').

It is also bound to C-M-backspace.  Even more dangerous.  At least
C-M-<DEL> usually warns (might depend on the operating system).
C-M-backspace gives no warning.  One can disable it, but that can pose
other problems.  (On many keyboards one uses Alt for Meta.)
