    Because node names tell you where a file is located.  Sometimes a file
    on on someone else's local area network, and your connection to it is
    slow or non-existant.

That is not normal for Info files that are distributed.  Normally
every crossreference in Info goes to a file on your own machine.

So what is significant here is not a distinction between same-manual
and other-manual cross references.  Rather, it is simply that
following an Info reference never requires downloading a file.

I am not sure of the best way to teach people about that, but
I don't see how showing node names would do it.
