Touched a file '\$abc' in my home directory. Started "emacs-21.3 -q
--no-init-file -f ffap-bindings" (no Tramp, or so). Loaded home
directory in dired, point at file '$abc.el'. After "C-x C-f <TAB>" I
get the error message
ffap-read-file-or-url-internal: Substituting nonexistent environment
variable "abc"

Would someone like to work on fixing ffap?
