I see this font now. It's encoded only in iso10646-1 and iso8859-1 and that's why I didn't notice it before.

By the way, you can inhibit using
-adobe-courier-*-iso10646-1 by specifying it in
face-ignored-fonts.  Please try this.

(setq face-ignored-fonts '(("-adobe-courier-.*-iso10646-1")))

I tried with

(setq face-ignored-fonts '(("-Adobe-Courier-.*-ISO10646-1")
                           ("-adobe-courier-.*-iso10646-1")))

but this didn't help. After evaling this and opening my windows-1251-encoded file, it is tried to be shown with -Adobe-Courier-Medium-R-Normal--17-120-100-100-M-100-ISO10646-1 (again). Should I report this to emacs-pretest-bug?
