You snipped my main point:

  It is not an argument against starting the pretest.  As people have
  pointed out several times, it is better to know about bugs earlier
  rather than later, since bug fixing takes place in parallel, not
  sequentially.

You still haven't given any argument against starting the pretest,
apart from some kind of gut feeling that the Emacs developers aren't
working hard enough to fix bugs.
