I bought a Mac keyboard for my PC. It's really beautiful.
http://www.apple.com/keyboard/
However, I do not like the apple button.
So I decided to transform it in META.
I edited the file lisp.h so :
/* Flag bits in a character. These also get used in termhooks.h.
Richard Stallman <address@hidden> thinks that MULE
(MUlti-Lingual Emacs) might need 22 bits for the character value
itself, so we probably shouldn't use any bits lower than 0x0400000. */
#define CHAR_ALT (0x0400000)
#define CHAR_SUPER (0x0800000) <== HERE I CHANGED THE VALUE TO 0x8000000
(CHAR_META)
#define CHAR_HYPER (0x1000000)
#define CHAR_SHIFT (0x2000000)
#define CHAR_CTL (0x4000000)
#define CHAR_META (0x8000000)
I recompiled emacs, and my SUPER is META.
I would like to be able to be able to change the meaning of the keys without
recompiling emacs. This would be useful for me.
One can add such a thing in future?
Alin Soare.
