This will check out the revision but also make a sticky tag.
Copy cc-langs.el somewhere safe, then "cvs update -A".
Then copy it back.

You can use "cvs co -p" for this.

You can also do a reverse merge on a pristine tree:

   cvs update -j5.288 -j5.286 cc-langs.el

... or make a reverse patch that way and apply it.
