For this specific completion (by character name), wouldn't it be nice to
also show the glyph as part of the completion string?  It shouldn't be
required to complete the string, though.

In general I find *browsing* the Unicode charts very rewarding, as
opposed to looking for something specific.  As Werner Lemberg suggested:

...although that specific interface doesn't show the character names.
