It’s written in C++, which is a minus, but it should be simple enough
to extend it with \c and \s.

If we're mentioning engines, CL-PPCRE by Dr. Edi Weitz is _in_ (common) lisp and generally nice (also 2-clause BSD-style licensed): http://weitz.de/cl-ppcre/
