That's OK; the above description about accepting the default options
should be good enough.  Could you provide a list of those default
options, so I could list them in the instructions?

That's a bug in the opposite direction.  Change this line in

addpm${EXEEXT}: ${srcdir}/addpm.c ${srcdir}/../src/epaths.h

to say this instead:

addpm${EXEEXT}: ${srcdir}/addpm.c ../src/epaths.h
