Can you upload your binary (and core, if any) somewhere? IIUC gNewSense still uses gcc-4.4; is it possible to try a never version of gcc? (gcc < 4.7.2 is known to have a few MIPS-related issues, as observed by the kernel developers; see http://www.linux-mips.org/wiki/GCC#GCC_4.7.1_and_older_code_generation_bug). Dmitry
