It is not a problem with JS, it's a problem of browser platforms.

Well, JS runs on Browsers, so it is a problem with JS IMHO.

That's why we have JS libraries.

I used JQuery extensivly for many years and know that it is not a silver bullet. You can still write non-portable code quite easily with JQuery.
