It may be some solution for core Emacs developers, but you can't expect a programmer, that wants to write an Emacs package, to do this.What is the fastest way to find out since when a function/var is available in Emacs?I use "git annotate".
Adding simple "Since: x" to a doc is not very time consuming, but may make life much easier to its users.
