At least some contributors have certain expectations on gratitude that don't end with "thanks", and include a certain degree of autonomy. Like having the last word in a technical discussion, for example.

No one will argue with it, at least in abstract.

You make it sound as if asking the developer of a package, e.g., to
reformat the doc strings so that the first line is a complete sentence
somehow means the whole package is garbage.

"incoherent packages" were your words.

Are we discussing docstrings now? The bulk of the preceding discussion had to do with either copyright assignment or function naming (e.g. using the s- prefix).

I am confident that if we just ask Magnar to keep the docstrings up to standard, it will be done without much fuss.
