I have M-v scroll/M-p scroll up/down by line, M-S-v/M-S-p by page. I am using
C-v
and C-z as prefixes already, for like two years or so.
Hitting alt is slightly less comfortable than hitting ctrl, especially on
europian keyboards since we don't have right alt (it is alt-gr), but it is not
so bad. I am quite ok with it.
