Based on your dislikes stated in this thread, you might like fonts
distributed from <https://int10h.org/oldschool-pc-fonts/>, also
packaged in Debian and derivatives as fonts-pc and fonts-pc-extra. Do
note that they are meant to be used at a few exact point sizes.
