My primary goals with these modifications are:

- To make the documentation more concise and less verbose.

- To combat the growth in length of Emacs documentation, as it seems
  that most Emacs documentation files only ever get larger and never
  smaller.  I'm not sure if there's a need for concern - it may be
  more difficult for (new) users to get into the right mindset by
  reading documentation.

However, these are just subjective opinions; you may reject them, of
course.
