Commit summaries are often useful to understand whether one needs to write the subsequent message and the diff, or can skip it more or less safely.
For example, it's most welcome when the summary mentions the subsystem it's acting on (e.g. android/ns/python/org/irc/url/bidi/font-lock/...).
