My experience with Discourse-based forums (such as the Haiku OS forum)
is that their paradigm revolves around linear ``topics'' of discussion,
wherein each post has precisely a single antecedent and a single
successor, and everyone is constantly in reply to all previous posters.

Very different from mail or net news, and not at all befitting Emacs,
much the same way a long flight is not very accommodating towards a
spontaneous bout of dysentry...
