Where can I find those attempts?  Why did your attempts fail?

Are you willing to try again?

I can't really comment on that idea, as I haven't thought about it.

I'm not ruling it out a priori or anything like that, but my thinking
was that merging it one feature at a time would make it easier to review
the new features, ensure they are integrated properly, update the
documentation, and so on.
