*If* you want to quote them, you have to quote them with `function'
(aka #') rather than with `quote'. But `lambda' is self-quoting, so you
don't need to quote it at all.

No, it's perfectly harmless to put the #' in front of the lambda.
I was just wondering why you said it was needed.
