Perhaps something changed recently then. In the version I was testing
with,
(with-temp-buffer
(org-mode)
(insert "* h1\np1")
(goto-char (point-max))
(cons (org-current-level)
(progn
(narrow-to-region (line-beginning-position)
(line-end-position))
(or (org-current-level) "it's nil"))))
=> (1 . "it's nil")
But now I updated and indeed it returns (1 . 1).
