Sorry about this late answer. Your patch fixes the Buffer-menu-use-header-line problem (not being able to select topmost buffers), which I appreciate very much. However, it does not resolve the issue with loosing buffer position (moved to top left position) when switching buffers with electric-buffer-list.

This happens:

(1) emacs -q -nw .emacs (for example)

(2) move cursor to some other position than top left

(3) use electric-buffer-list to switch to *scratch* and then back

(4) cursor is now positioned at the top left position

(sorry about using the wrong terms for position, etc, I am a _very new_ emacs developer wanna-be, and am not familiar with the correct terms yet)

This does not happen if switching buffers via switch-to-buffer.
