I forgot that the user can only mess with the resolution if he can
become root and with `default-point-size' if he both can become root
and wants to use xfs.  That still leaves, for users who do not want to
customize the font of every single application, *.font, which Emacs is
going to respect.

To me, the font actually used by Emacs does not in any way look
non-standard to begin with.
