rms led me to believe it would be included, and I don't know why it
wasn't.
If I said it would be included, most likely I forgot about it
under pressure of too much to do.
What was "it"? You probably mentioned it in a previous message, but
that was a few days ago and I didn't make an effort to remember it
then.

Shouldn't Emacs have a Python mode, especially
one that's potentially better than the XEmacs one?
Python is definitely a language worth supporting. Whether to include
the Python mode for Emacs in Emacs or in Python is a question to be
decided by (1) what's convenient for the users and (2) whether we can
get legal papers for it.
When Python was newer and more experimental, perhaps it was better to
distribute the mode for it with Python. But Python has become widely
used, and now I think it is better to include Python mode in Emacs.
So let's go ahead and install your mode.
