w3: widget-before-change error

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

With the curent (savannah) CVS version "WWW p4.0pre.47 2001/10/01" of
w3-mode, I get the following error messages:

error in process filter: widget-before-change: \
 Text is read-only: "Attempt to change text outside editable field"

error in process filter: Text is read-only: \
 "Attempt to change text outside editable field"

I also tried the savannah cvs version of the url packages that comes
with w3-mode, but I get the same error message. url-package, custom
and widget libraries come from Gnu Emacs CVS.
