Thanks. Sorry I couldn't contribute it. It's still not clear to me whether this is really specific to x86 (>386), i.e. why is it `setarch i386' and is it relevant to other architectures where `setarch i386' would presumably fail. Maybe someone could ask drepper if no RedHat people are listening.
