Previous versions of emacs had this interactive function in order to
re-uniquify buffer names when the uniquified buffer names are
screwed up
It doesn't seem obvious how to make that work. It won't work for the
args to be nil. I don't know enough about the package to fix it,
but if someone else knows how and wants to, please do.
