In a text buffer starting with;;; -*- mode: Emacs-Lisp; coding: iso-8859-15; -*-I have a line(message "konventionell-römisch")which I can't find with C-s ö. It's always "Failing I-search: ö."How do you input the ö?
I just press the 'Ö' key on my keyboard!
The problem is that the ö you type at the isearch prompt is a latin-1 ö whereas the one in the buffer is a latin-9 ö (Emacs's internal representation of characters has such duplicates).Try M-x unify-8859-on-decoding-mode RET (before you even open the file).
It is already set: Minor modes in effect: unify-8859-on-decoding-mode: t unify-8859-on-encoding-mode: t -- Greetings Pete
