With defface this doesn't work quite right. For example, a new frame
uses the saved face specification instead of the face default
set by C-M-x (the cause of this is visible in the cited code below)
Ok, please install your changes.
But would you please also add more comments to those places?
It isn't straightforward why the current code does what it does,
nor why your change makes it correct.
It would be good to write a master comment documenting the saved-face and
customized-face properties, explaining precisely what they mean.
I cannot find any now. You could also add comments in several places,
telling users where to look for that master comment.
